We dived in Ilha Grande in November 2005. This island has beautiful secluded beaches and is only a 2-hour bus trip Southwest of Rio, followed by a 90-minute boat ride. Underwater visibility ranged between 5 and 10 meters and water temperature was 22-23°C. We dived with Elite Dive Center, which is run by a family of two very enthusiastic instructors and one divemaster.
