Cabo Verde underwater

I dived in Cabo Verde in May 2007, near the end of my last overland trip through Africa. Scuba Diving is available at most of the nine islands in this Portuguese speaking country. We chose to dive in Ilha de Santiago, as we flew in directly from Senegal. All dives were off Tarrafal, a village that is a 2-hour drive from the capital city Praia. I was the only diver with Monaya, who is the local instructor and an experienced saturation diver. Visibility was around 20 meters and water temperature was 23°C.
