We spent a great week at the marvelous city of Madison while attending the 188th Meeting of the American Astronomical Society in 1996. It is actually a city within a campus, so many are the students here. Great atmosphere, State Street, State Capitol, Memorial Union and Terrace, Lake Mendota and Lake Monona... The University of Wisconsin was founded in 1849, the year after Wisconsin became a state. UW-Madison enjoys a worldwide reputation for educational quality.
