My interests are not limited, I need only the excuse and the opportunity
and I see limitless possibilities in life.
Besides astronomy, world travel and running, I have a number of other
interests listed below.
I have to budget my time since I also have to work...
Genealogy

Why Reaiche.com? My grandfather Rouhana el-Sheikh was a Christian Lebanese who first came to Brazil in the late 1870's. He and his mother Christina had the opportunity to have an appointment with D. Pedro II, the Brazilian Emperor at the time. My grandfather later immigrated to Brazil in 1913 and the local emigration authorities were unable to spell his surname Reaiche in Portuguese. As he saw the picture of Ma Rouhana, the Patron Saint of his village Bnachii who had the same name as his own forename, it was easy for him to find out that Saint Rouhana was known locally as São Raymundo and so our family name was changed accordingly. On arriving in Brazil in 1922, my father already knew that his surname would change from Reaiche to Raymundo (don’t confuse with Raimundo, a very common name in Brazil). Although our family spread throughout the world, I have had the pleasure of having visited our relatives in almost every country where a Reaiche can be found. This is a result of my own direct genealogy research in over 130 countries through numerous archives, libraries and through oral interviews in the last 23 years. At the present, our family tree encompasses more than 1,400 people and keeps growing at a steady pace.
Anthropology

During my travels I was at awe with people
that would always ask me if I was an anthropologist, rather than an engineer
and scientist or business manager. Essential readings if you want to know

Psychology & Philosophy

Deeply interested in Psychoanalyses, Transactional Analyses and Graphology since 1973. I also received a graduate degree in Yoga from UFBa in 1991. For ten years I have participated in Gurdjieff study groups in various countries. I have temporarily lived in Buddhist temples in Thailand and visited India three times. Our library has over 200 books in English on the subjects.
Satellite TV DX
I
am currently inactive due to lack of time. I have worked as an independent
consultant for Satellite TV Systems from 1989 to 1998. We have pioneered
the home reception of Ku-band (Intelsat-K) and S-band (Arabsat 1-C) in
Brazil, also the reception of C-band (Brasilsat) with dishes as small as
87cm in 1994. My work was cited in the April and
July 96 issues of What
Satellite TV, the #1 magazine in Europe, with photos of our Ku,
C and S-band systems. I was also cited in the British magazine Television
in March 97. I was the winner of a worldwide competition held in Sweden
in 1997, having logged over four hundred unknown satellite TV channels,
which accounts for almost 8% of all satellite TV channels in existence
in the world at the time. Our equipment still is:
4.0-meter BrasilSat dish (Brazil) C-band
2.0-meter Orbitron dish (USA) C-band
1.5-meter IRTE dish (Italy) Ku-band
87cm DH Satellite dish (USA) C-band
60cm RCA dish (USA) Ku-band
EchoStar LT-530 receiver (threshold = 4 dB)
Uniden UST-2200 receiver (threshold = 7 dB)
17º K Drake C-band LNB (3.7 - 4.2 GHz)
0.6 dB Swedish Microwave Ku-band LNB (10.95 - 12.75 GHz)
0.7 dB Chaparral S-band LNB (2.5 - 2.7 GHz)
Pico PP-1450 Satellite Signal Strength Meter
15-System Sony KV-1484 MTA TV
World Paper Money Collecting

I have over 1,100 Uncirculated World Banknotes. I am still missing currency from Liberia and Botswana according to the 2001 Standard Catalog of World Paper Money, 7th Edition.
Ancient Egyptian Art

After having visited Egypt five times we haven't quenched our thirst yet. That's why I have taken the course History of Art I at UFBa.
